Color

^Intensity^
  •  A color on the lighter scale of a color wheel
  • Like most times, it can be very overwhelming depending on the color

^Color Palettes^
  • Gives a choice of all different colors
  • Extremely helpful for interior designers

  ^Cool colors^
  • On the lighter spectrum on the color wheel
  • Gives the feel of calmness and simplicity

^Warm colors^
  • Colors that are on the darker side of the spectrum on the color wheel
  • Gives the feeling of warmth, lust, and hunger

Value

  ^Light Value^
  • Has a higher brightness in exposure and color

  ^Dark Value^
  • Has a lower exposure in light and color

  ^Value Pattern^
  • The arrangement of these chairs make one in the shade and one in direct sunlight

^Value as emphasis^
  • Very light colors throughout the picture but yet some objects still pop out (act as an accent)
  • The bookcase's glass, the blue rug, and the painting of the woman all stand out

Motion

  ^Stillness Action^
  • Although nothing in the picture is moving, it is understood that the trees are still blowing in the wind.

^Arrested Action^
  • The water although is still, it is assumed that it is moving

Three ways to show motion
^Cropped image^
  • The car is understood to be moving since part of it is cropped out of the image.

^Repetition^
  • A repeated object going through the motions as if a picture was not being taken.

  ^Blurred image^
  • By the blurring in the image, she is obviously moving pretty fast on that treadmill.

Space

^Multiple Perspective^
  • Many ending focal points
  • In the roof, walls, and fences

  ^Open Form^
  • Gives a more open feel in a room while providing more room.
  • More sought after than the closed form version

^Closed Forms^
  • Feels more constricted since every wall is closed in
  • Doesn't flow as well as the open floor concept

^Transparency^
  • This window acts as a wall but gives the ability to still see what is behind it.
  • Provides more light for rooms
